August 3 – August 29, 2022
Prescott, WI to Boston, MA
Entering Wisconsin, we made our way across the state to the town of Manitowoc. Boarding the S.S. Badger Ferry, we took a 4-hour boat ride across Lake Michigan to Ludington. Michigan was flat and there was agriculture as far as the eye could see. When we got to the town of Algonac, we caught a small ferry across the St. Clair River into Ontario, Canada. The ride through Ontario was a wonderful experience. The countryside was beautiful as we skirted the shores of Lake Erie. Crossing back into the United States at Buffalo, New York, we jumped on the Erie Canal Trail for 360 miles. Leaving New York and entering Massachusetts, we climbed over the Berkshire Mountains making our way towards the last stop in Boston, the John F. Kennedy Library. The trip statistics are as follows: We covered 3,918 miles in 86 days (76 riding days and 10 days off for sightseeing and bad weather). We climbed 126,000 vertical feet and averaged 53 miles per day. Thank you viewing the blog and videos. Stay tuned for future adventures. Until next time…
