June 5 - June 14, 2022
We started a cross country bicycle tour leaving Seattle and heading north to the town of Sedro Wooley. Riding on route 20, also called the Cascade Highway, we entered the Northern Cascades National Park. The weather in Washington was a mix of rain, beautiful sunny skies, and some snow. The route was full of lush green fields, forests, lakes, and waterfalls. It was cold while we were camping, so we were glad we brought our down jackets and winter sleeping bags. We were not expecting snow in the middle of June, but our foul weather gear kept us dry as we summited Washington Pass. We certainly were not expecting a blizzard on Sherman Pass. Luckily, some Trail Angels helped us and another couple, Charlie and Karen, as we reached the stormy summit and drove us down the mountain into town. Be sure to watch the video below.
